Haozhe (Hank) Si
Ph.D. Student, Electrical and Computer Engineering
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
I am a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, advised by Prof. Han Zhao. I expect to graduate in May 2027. I received my B.S. in Computer Engineering from UIUC in December 2021, graduating with highest honors.
My research focuses on multimodal foundation models, remote sensing, and generative models, with an emphasis on parameter-efficient transfer learning and out-of-distribution generalization. I develop foundation models and large-scale datasets for multimodal, hyperspectral, and spatiotemporal geospatial data.
From August 2023 to August 2026, I worked as a research assistant at the IBM-Illinois Discovery Accelerator Institute, with Prof. Han Zhao and Dr. Hendrick Hamann. I was an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon Customer Trust in summer 2025 and Amazon Merch on Demand in summer 2024. Previously, I was a research intern at Shanghai AI Lab, working with Prof. Bin Zhao on self-supervised depth estimation.
